Downlands College is a Prep to Year 12, independent, Catholic, coeducational, day and boarding school with a long tradition of heart-centred and values-based education.

ABOUT THE JOB
Downlands invites applications by suitably qualified persons for the position of Events Officer for a permanent position to commence September 2023.
Applicants should have demonstrated experience and have a proactive work approach. The ideal applicant will be a person who has demonstrated experience leading teams to publicise, organise and coordinate events.

Key responsibilities include:
– Event management – develop, manage and implement key community and promotional events
– Working closely with college support groups that fall under the auspice of the Parents and Friends Association and assist with the management and promotion of events

CRITERIA
The Events Officer must display:
– Display a willingness to embrace the particular MSC ethos of the College and ability to absorb a large degree of information about the College, quickly.
– Have a friendly and courteous demeanour, and an ability to engage well with people from a variety of backgrounds;
– Have an in-depth understanding and level of experience of event management and processes.
– Have an understanding of general marketing and communications, and how events fit into this portfolio.
– Have a proven history of coordinating events for a minimum of three (3) years.
– Have experience working with a wide range of stakeholder to deliver successful events.
– Have experience in drafting event-specific communications and/or social media posts.
– Have an eligibility and willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check suitability card, if not already held.

SALARY
$68,155 – $71,468 per year FTE plus Super

– Outlines your knowledge and understanding of general marketing concepts and how you would work within a broader marketing team.
– Outlines your knowledge and experience in in digital communications and event marketing.
– Outlines your knowledge in engaging multiple stakeholders to achieve a successful multi-faceted event.
– Explains the appeal of the position to you personally, and
– Discusses your alignment with the College’s values, ethos and charism.
