Over the past 22 years Lea has worked across co-educational, both types of single sex-schools, Christian and secular schools teaching for 15 years and in development and alumni for the last 7 years. Lea genuinely enjoys designing and implementing community engagement programs and developing a culture of philanthropy which naturally flows from it.
In the development role over $12m has been secured in cash, pledges and bequests towards three significant new buildings, several major renovations and in establishing multiple bursaries. At Newington College (Sydney), Lea successfully led the ‘$10m Discover what’s Possible’ Capital Campaign and established ‘The Founders Society’ bequest group nurturing the membership to over 100 within five years. The BGGS ‘$1m+ Building a Tree of Learning’ Capital Campaign saw almost double the target achieved within 2 years.
Lea has been involved with Educate Plus, formerly ADAPE, since 2008, when she attended the International Conference in Brisbane. She was a member of the NSW/ACT Chapter Committee, now serves on the QLD Chapter Committee and has presented on numerous occasions on development and alumni topics including Discover Development at the International Conference in Sydney (2012).
