I’d be very interested to hear how you go. We have had limited success with TASS Community for exactly those reasons you mentioned. There seems to be limited functionality to send anything other than text-based emails!
I did ask TASS about emailing Past Student Records through Tass.web as well and was told:
“Unfortunately TASS.web does not have any in-program functionality of emailing Past Student records. This will need to be done externally in your mail client.
You can produce a list of Past Student emails in Past Students > Listings/Reports/Merges > Labels / Letter Merges

If you would like to see Enhancements made to this area, I would suggest posting in the TASS Community Forum under the Enhancements & Voting section. Management reviews these requests regularly.”
As we would like to have some event ticketing functionality and communication options with our alumni, we are looking at implementing Alumnly for our past student management.
