We setup and service the event ourselves, so like Marg completely understand the time and effort required to fulfil this community service. Increasingly we see less people wanting coffee & tea at events, especially in the afternoon.
For some events we still use urns, but it is labour intensive and often not used, and others the hot water urns on the wall. For all casual events we use Biopak cups & cutlery, so they are 100% compostable in the Food/Organic recycling waste system.
We are also looking to move to coffee pods/Nespresso in 2025 (and will ensure pods are recyclable) which will remove the need for urns for small events.
For afternoon events we offer water/juice/sparkling water which still requires some set-up but not large volumes of boiling water and again using compostable cups & stirrers, etc.
