QLD Chapter Special Interest Group Session
The Qld Chapter invite you to join our first SIG of 2025.
This SIG is designed for those Advancement professionals who are in the Admissions, Alumni & Community Relations, and Fundraising streams.
The SIG will be broken up into the following sessions:
Admissions: Things you need to know when starting out as a School Registrar, getting the basics right, what don’t I know?
MarComms/Alumni & Community Relations: Crafting dynamic content to engage Alumni and your wider community.
- At this presentation, you’ll learn to create content that reconnects alumni and engages the community. Discover how to set clear goals and tailor your message by understanding your audience. We’ll explore effective channels like email, print, social media, and digital platforms, and share actionable ideas including success stories and interactive challenges. Gain insights on measuring impact and refining your strategy so your content truly resonates.
Fundraising: The Ask – It’s more than a Question.
- A Shared Vision, Not Just a Request
- An ask is not simply about requesting funds; it’s about inviting donors to be part of a shared vision. It aligns their values and passions with meaningful opportunities to create lasting impact.
- Building Relationships, Not Transactions
- Successful fundraising is rooted in relationships, not one-time donations. Engaging with donors authentically, understanding their motivations, and fostering long-term connections are key to sustainable giving.
- Inspiring Investment, Not Obligation
- Philanthropy flourishes when donors feel inspired, not pressured. A compelling ask tells a story of transformation, showing how their support changes lives and strengthens the community.
- Stewardship Begins Before the Ask
- Thoughtful donor stewardship—thanking, engaging, and keeping supporters informed—ensures that when the time comes for an ask, donors already feel connected and valued, making them more likely to give.
- A Commitment Beyond the Gift
- The ask is just the beginning. True philanthropy involves ongoing communication, appreciation, and demonstrating impact, reinforcing the donor’s vital role in the mission and encouraging continued generosity.
