The 2019 “Switched-On & Savvy” Educate Plus NZ Chapter Conference is being held on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th September in Dunedin. Take the opportunity to recharge the batteries this Spring with a refreshing trip to the South!

Click on the button below to register now!

Registration will open at 7.45am and the Conference Powhiri and Welcome will take place at 8.45am on Wednesday 18th September. The final conference session will conclude on Thursday 19th September at 3pm.

The line-up of conference speakers is lead by 2019 Kiwibank NZ Innovator of the Year, Ian Taylor MNZM (Ngāti Kahungunu); strategic philanthropy consultant, Catherine Boyer, and the Godfather of Advancement in Australasia, Dr Alan Watkinson.

A Dunedin-local, Ian is a former sports broadcaster and founder / CEO of multi-award winning Taylormade Productions and Animation Research Limited, the company behind the ground-breaking animation technology that, over the past three decades, has transformed the television viewing experience of sports coverage and children’s shows. A typical, humble Kiwi innovator and entrepreneur, Ian will be sharing insights into his latest ground-breaking project poised to impact New Zealand people and our entire society. Spoiler Alert! – prepare for goosebumps and a particularly inspirational start to the Conference!

As a former Educate Plus NZ President and Director of Development in both education and the arts, Catherine now supports some of New Zealand’s leading philanthropists to develop a strategically sustainable approach to their philanthropic investments. Catherine’s passion for her subject is sure to shine as she provides us all with fresh, practical and uber-relevant strategic considerations.

Dr Alan Watkinson’s CV reads like a ‘How To’ guide to building an exemplary career in advancement! From his earlier days as Director of Development at Scotch College in Melbourne to, more latterly, Chief Advancement Officer at La Trobe University, and as a former Chairman of ADAPE Australasia, Alan never fails to deliver particularly insightful, thought-provoking and super-savvy smarts. We were delighted that Alan is able to cross the ditch and share his extensive experience with Educate Plus NZ members.
